ESR accelerating data center efforts with 20MW new development in Tokyo enabling the creation of a 20 megawatt IT load data center . The new facility is expected to commence operations in September 2025 . It will provide 20MW of new data center capacity to support the community of enterprises located in west-central Tokyo , including existing operators , as well as new market entrants in the wider , supplyconstrained Tokyo market .
“ Tokyo is the primary hub for international firms to access the Japan market ,” said Diarmid Massey , CEO , Data centers of ESR .
ESR Cayman , one of APAC ’ s largest real asset managers , has acquired a key data center asset in Higashi Kurume , which is in the Mitaka area of Tokyo , Japan .
This asset is primely located in one of Tokyo ’ s most established data center clusters and comprises three office buildings within a total site area of 20,900 square metres ,
“ Its geographical location as the most prominent technology and financial market situated in the north-west of Asia has resulted in it becoming one of the first landing points for a sizable number of submarine cables to connect the western US to the rest of Asia . Japan remains as one of the largest data center markets in the APAC region and hence a highly important strategic market for ESR .”
ServiceNow opens two India-based data centers in response to strong customer growth
ServiceNow has launched local data center facilities in Mumbai and Bangalore , strengthening its commitment to help Indian customers embrace innovative digital solutions and meet local data residency preferences .
