Auckland ’ s Carey Baptist College selects Tribal ’ s ebs : VET Student Management System

Tribal Group , a leader in education software and services , has announced the signing of a five year contract with Carey Baptist College for the deployment and on-going management of Tribal ’ s Student Management System ( SMS ), ebs : VET .

Designed for rapid deployment in the private training and English language learning
college sectors . ebs : VET will replace the college ’ s legacy student management platform , Artena .
ebs : VET features a pre-configured version of Tribal ’ s market leading SMS ebs student information system . This integrated functionality will enable the college to build both a feature rich student and staff portal as well as support admissions through Tribal ’ s ontrack portals , digitizing the entire admissions process and creating a better student experience . ebs will also modernize the interface with Moodle , the college ’ s learning management system .

Carey Baptist College is Tribal ’ s eighth customer in the New Zealand Private Training Establishment sector and the seventh organization in the last 18 months to implement its ebs solution .

D2L to enhance online learning by integrating Brightspace platform with Microsoft Teams

Global learning technology provider D2L is enhancing the collaboration abilities of its Brightspace learning management system through a deeper integration with Microsoft Teams .

This integration will enable greater engagement for those working or learning remotely by bringing people together as colleagues and co-learners . Brightspace users with a Microsoft Teams license will be able to seamlessly transition between both tools with the Microsoft Teams – Course Connector .
User enrolments will be automatically synchronized between the two platforms . Brightspace users will also soon be able to create private channels for course sections and link back to their course homepage through a tab in Microsoft Teams .
Tony Maguire , Regional Director Australia and New Zealand at D2L , said the integration will bring together all the tools and functionality remote learners and educators need in one unified platform which reduces complexity , improves collaboration and enhances learning outcomes .
“ Learner engagement and social connectedness are critical factors in student success ,” said Maguire . “ Recent events have re-enforced the importance of social context in learning , so collaboration , discussion and teamwork are just as relevant in primary and secondary school as in vocational and higher education settings .
