Survey shows APAC lagging behind on modernizing legacy apps and data

Challenges to modernization ranged from limited resources ( 27 %), cultures resistant to change ( 20 %), integration challenges ( 17 %), lack of senior buy-in ( 10 %), lack of a clear roadmap ( 9 %) and communication between stakeholders ( 8 %).
“ It is telling that even well into their cloud journey , the three most critical apps organizations say they need to upgrade are truly at the heart of the business because they are at once the most important things to modernize and the most challenging ,” said Jeff DeVerter , Chief Technology Evangelist , Rackspace Technology .

The latest Rackspace survey on data and application modernization shows 78 % of APAC respondents recognizing they won ’ t benefit from AI if they fail to modernize legacy apps and data .

The most critical apps and data to modernize were identified as are CRM ( 89 %), enterprise ( 87 %), business intelligence ( 74 %), HR ( 73 %) data analytics ( 54 %), governance and security ( 46 %) and data integration ( 41 %).
“ At the same time , it is encouraging to see leaders understand that app modernization is key to getting the most out of cutting-edge technologies . It could be that the prospect of losing out on AI will motivate organizations to finally get off the sidelines when it comes to modernization of core systems .”

Blue Yonder and nConnect Group implement WMS solution for Team Global Express NZ

Global Express has digitally transformed its warehousing capabilities by implementing Blue Yonder ’ s Warehouse Management System ( WMS ).
The project was successfully implemented by nConnect Group , a Blue Yonder partner in APAC .
Team Global Express in New Zealand operates out of 28 branches , offering comprehensive intermodal freight delivery options domestically and internationally and fully integrated logistics services .
The provider was previously using multiple solutions across its customer base , with the main solution being homegrown , and needed to consolidate to one solution .
With Blue Yonder , Team Global Express Logistics NZ has seen a productivity increase of 15 %, a customer and staff satisfaction rating of 9.8 out of 10 and positive impact on profitability , ROI and overall financial performance – including inventory reduction and shortened cycle time .
