CelcomDigi has held the first of a three-part CelcomDigi MY5G CEO Roundtable 2023 – part of the CelcomDigi MY5G Series – aimed at helping businesses realise the true potential of 5G in Malaysia . The initial session brought together leaders from Malaysia ’ s top public listed companies , corporates and public sector to exchange ideas and engage each other on the relevance of 5G for Malaysian businesses and industries .
Held in collaboration with CelcomDigi ’ s strategic partners and global technology enablers – Axiata , Telenor , Capgemini , Ericsson , Huawei , Kearney , Microsoft and ZTE – the roundtable series covers actionable insights on how leading global businesses have leveraged the power of 5G and enabling technologies like AI and IoT to digitalise business for growth and transform industries in leading markets .
CelcomDigi CEO Datuk Idham Nawawi said driving the adoption of 5G in the country required joint effort between corporates , public sector , technology enablers and connectivity providers .
Eviden has won a $ 100m deal in India to deliver two new supercomputers tripling the computing capacity of the Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology ( IITM ) and the National Center for Medium Range Weather Forecast ( NCMRWF ).
These systems , based on Eviden ’ s BullSequana XH2000 , will have a combined power capacity up to 21.3 Petaflops and will rely on Eviden ’ s patented Direct Liquid Cooling technology to cool the system using warm water .
Located in Noida , the NCMRWF supercomputer will have an 8.3-Petaflop computing capacity for weather and climate modelling , to support advanced numerical weather research across India .
Dr . M . Ravichandran , Secretary , Ministry of Earth Sciences , said : “ Weather and climate research requires massive computing power . This partnership with Atos Group will augment our current capacity to increase resolutions and accuracy of weather forecasts . We look forward to Atos Group in helping us achieve this goal .”
