SINGAPORE
Equinix has further expanded its footprint in Mumbai with a $ 42 million investment in its fourth International Business Exchange ( IBX ) data center . MB4 will offer expanded connectivity options to major telco networks along with Metro Connect availability to the existing Mumbai data center sites MB1 and MB2 .
Scheduled to open in Q4 2023 – subject to regulatory approvals – the first phase of MB4 will provide an initial capacity of 350 cabinets .
When fully built out , the facility is expected to provide 700 cabinets .
In June 2022 , Equinix announced plans to expand its footprint with an investment of over US $ 86 million to build its third data center in Mumbai , called MB3 . Present projections put India ’ s digital economy on course to top $ 1 trillion by 2026 .
Digital Realty has announced a new cooling tower initiative at its SIN10 data center that aims to pioneer new levels of water conservation and efficiency in its data centers in Singapore .
This initiative , employing a process known as DCI electrolysis , is the first of its kind to be implemented in Singapore ’ s data center industry and employs a process known as DCI electrolysis eliminating the use of chemicals to treat blow-down water discharge . This allows Digital Realty to triple the number of times the same pool of water can be used at its SIN10 cooling towers before it is discharged as wastewater – resulting in 1.24 million litres of water saved monthly .
“ We intend to extend this initiative to our other two data centers in Singapore ( SIN11 and SIN12 ) and do our part to optimize resource use in the industry ,” said Jon Curry , Vice President of Operations APAC , Digital Realty .

PAKISTAN
Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited ( PTCL ) has completed fiberization of the Nathiagali tourist destination – providing high-speed connectivity in the region .
The network overhaul is being carried out under PTCL ’ s Copper Sunset project , which encompasses the replacement of copper wires with the cutting-edge PTCL Flash Fiber network .
President , Business Zone North , PTCL , Nauman Durrani said : “ We are thrilled to inaugurate our fiberization project in Nathiagali . PTCL Flash Fiber 400K customer journey for 2023 aims to provide its customers with an exceptional high-speed Internet experience through its Fiber-based network ”.

Sangfor Access Secure has its emphasis on data sovereignty , made possible through localized data processing . This feature enables Thai enterprises to comply with domestic data protection laws while working with Sangfor ’ s international SASE infrastructure .
The platform also pitches advanced cybersecurity features powered by AI-driven threat detection .
