EDITOR ’ S NOTE
Welcome to the latest edition of Intelligent CIO APAC . This month we lead on the Digital Transformation of one of Australia ’ s oldest religious organizations . Dating from 1845 , The Catholic Archdiocese of Perth holds a wealth of data , stories and histories that stretch close to two centuries .
See on p61 how XTransfer met the challenge of global regulatory compliance to game change SME client collection services .
Editor ’ s Question asks how the CIO role can adapt to advances in AI ?
All of this information has been held primarily in paper form and stored in various locations , reflective of the Archdiocese ’ s presence and work across the southern area of Western Australia .
To ensure that the paper information is documented and preserved in its current format , the Archdiocese has had to rely on high levels of human resourcing – and request response times incompatible with 21st century expectation .
This had such a strong response we ’ ll likely be running the question again . Meantime , see who had their say this month on p32 .
Dr Jim Webber , Chief Scientist , Neo4j , switched on to tech with a Sinclair ZX Spectrum in the 1980s . What that led to is in Get to Know on p79 .
That ’ s just a sample of what ’ s on offer – so enjoy the read .
On p56 , Archivist Director Odhran O ’ Brien , outlines the collaboration with Ricoh that transformed how the Archdiocese managed information across the entire organization .
Have an innovative month .
Make stuff happen .
Based in Shanghai , Chinese FinTech XTransfer renders one-stop , cross-border financial and risk management services to small and medium-sized enterprises ( SMEs ).
And many SMEs engaging in international trade have traditionally relied on telegraphic transfers – with all entails – for payment collection .
