Nokia , DongkUK Systems and Erum I & C deploy advanced Korean school network for seamless Digital Transformation
Project aims to enhance existing infrastructures and provide a high-capacity network to support digital learning .
Nokia is collaborating with DongkUK Systems and Erum I & C to install an Optical LAN solution in 100 schools in the Gyeonggi-do region of South Korea . This project aims to enhance existing infrastructures and provide a high-capacity network to support digital learning .
The initiative is part of the Korean Ministry of Education ' s Green Smart School program , designed to transform current educational facilities into Smart Learning environments .
Following the successful completion of this phase , plans are in place to expand the project throughout the Gyeonggi-do region and to additional schools across South Korea .
The upgraded network enables schools to offer Augmented Reality ( AR ) and Virtual Reality ( VR ) classes . Additionally , it has the capability to upgrade to 10G and beyond without requiring new cabling .
Nokia ' s suite , comprising Passive Optical LAN ( POL ), Optical Line Terminal ( OLT ) and Optical Network Terminal ( ONT ), aims to streamline operations and reduce energy consumption in a cost-effective manner .
All three companies tailored the solution to meet the schools ' specific needs . As long-standing business partners of Nokia , DongkUK Systems and Erum I & C play pivotal roles in the project .
DongkUK Systems focuses on providing a stable supply chain , while Erum I & C oversees product delivery , network design , installation , commissioning and maintenance .
