Vantage Data Centers expands APAC footprint to Taipei with 16MW data centre development

Vantage chose Taipei for its crucial role as an established hub supporting Taiwan ’ s Digital Transformation , as well as its rich connectivity ecosystem and submarine cable access .
Driven by growing cloud service adoption and demand for AI , the Taipei data centre market is expected to more than double from US $ 1.42 billion in 2022 to US $ 3.21 billion by 2028 , according to ResearchandMarkets . com , offering a prime opportunity for Vantage to enter the market .

Vantage Data Centers has confirmed its entrance into Taipei , Taiwan ’ s largest data centre market , where the company will open TPE1 – a 16MW , 215,000 square foot ( 20,000 square meters ) data centre in mid-2024 .

Sited on two acres ( one hectare ), the new five-story facility will align with the local government ’ s focus on sustainable energy sources , constructed in accordance with Vantage ’ s ‘ sustainable by design ’ blueprint for energy-efficient operations .
The campus will be powered by Taiwan Power Company ( Taipower ), a local utility provider who is actively developing renewable energy and is committed to introducing low carbon , clean energy .
“ Taipei is a prime location to serve customers across Asia as demand across the region continues to skyrocket , especially given the use of modern technologies such as AI ,” said Raymond Tong , President of Vantage Data Centers , APAC .
The company ’ s first campus in Taiwan marks its eighth developing or operational campus in APAC .

ExtraHop secures $ 100m in growth capital and strengthens leadership team

ExtraHop has secured $ 100 million in growth capital from existing investors in a transaction that is expected to close in early 2024 – subject to customary closing conditions .

The company ended 2023 with approximately $ 200 million in ARR and prestigious industry recognition for its innovative technology .

The company has also welcomed two experienced senior leaders in Marc Andrews as Chief Revenue Officer ( CRO ) and Kanaiya Vasani as Chief Product Officer ( CPO ).
Andrews is described as a ‘ proven sales leader ’ with a strong background in cybersecurity excellence .
He previously led global sales at Symantec and Blue Coat Systems building go-to-market , alignment , and implementation strategies .
With more than 30 years of experience in networking and security Vasani has held leadership positions at Juniper Networks and Terayon Communications .
Most recently he led the product team at Infoblox .
Vasani is said to bring ’ significant experience ’ in defining and shaping corporate strategy then executing through product development to drive customer success .
