The Singapore Land Authority
The Singapore Land Authority ( SLA ) plays a leading role in developing geospatial data infrastructure and policies , enabling knowledge and value creation for the Government , enterprise and community .
Set up as a statutory board under the Ministry of Law , the SLA optimises land resources for economic and social development – with a role divided into developmental and regulatory .
As well as that development of geospatial data infrastructure and related policies , in optimising land use , the SLA maintains the national land information database and is responsible for managing state land through land sales , leases , acquisitions and allocations .
The SLA also develops and markets state properties to optimise their use for the benefit for the public .
In its regulatory role , the SLA is the national land registration authority and oversees the registration of property transactions in Singapore , also being responsible for the management and maintenance of the national land survey system .
Of itself , the SLA says : “ We nurture an environment where best practices and ideas on land and resource administration and management are generated and adopted .
“ With our multi-disciplinary team of estate professionals , planners , researchers , lawyers and surveyors , every project can become a forum for new ideas to flourish .
