Nokia enhances TM ’ s international optical network

Nokia has been selected by TM to build a dedicated international optical Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing ( DWDM ) network – improving the management of growing data traffic and improving data center connectivity .

The new DWDM network will act as an express route for cross-country traffic , connecting the Malaysia-Thailand border to the Malaysia- Singapore border . It will provide hyperconnectivity to the main data centers in Malaysia and a cable landing station to accommodate the exponential growth of data traffic across these countries .
TM will also leverage the Nokia WaveSuite platform to optimize its network and operations .
John Harrington , Senior Vice President and Head of Asia Pacific Sales for Network Infrastructure , Nokia , said : “ Our best-in-class optical solutions will enable TM to provide a sustainable and world-class network experience to its end users in the region . Our technical lab in Malaysia , coupled with local manufacturing of DWDM gear , allows us to ensure the timely and smooth execution of this important project .”
Once completed , the new network will help TM expedite its adoption of AI to leverage automation for enhanced network performance and operations .
Powered by Nokia ’ s fifth-generation super-coherent Photonic Service Engine ( PSE-Vs ), the all-optical network will provide superior transmission performance over long distances , leading to improved capacity , scalability and interoperability while ensuring environmental sustainability through its low energy consumption per bit . By transmitting signals over a single fiber optic cable , TM will be able to efficiently manage the massive volumes of data generated by hyperscalers .

BDx Indonesia launches first phase of Interconnected Internet Exchange ecosystem

BDx Indonesia , a joint venture between BDx Data Centers ,

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison ( IOH ) and Lintasarta , along with NeutraDC , a subsidiary of Telkom Indonesia , have launched the first phase of their interconnected Internet Exchange ( IX ) ecosystem in Indonesia .
The project will result in the establishment of a portfolio of 108 interconnected colocation and edge sites across Indonesia .
Phase 1 includes the operational launch of BDx ’ s CGK3 & 3A campus in Jakarta and NeutraDC ’ s Cikarang facility . These sites will serve as internet aggregation points , creating a hyperconnected and resilient internet backbone that will support Indonesia ’ s Digital Transformation .
NeutraDC and BDx Indonesia will operate independent Internet Exchanges ( IXs ) that are interconnected to each other ’ s data center ecosystems .
Mayank Srivastava , CEO , BDx Data Centers , said : “ This initiative will go a long way in enhancing the quality of internet infrastructure , enhancing the user experience for all customer segments .”
The BDx IX point of presence ( PoP ) is live at CGK3A and set to launch at NeutraDC ’ s Cikarang facility in September 2024 . The NeutraDC and BDx IXs will be connected on a multi-terabit fiber ecosystem – creating a high-speed resilient network on IOH and Telkom networks .
NeutraDC CEO Andreuw Th . A . F said : “ This collaboration is designed to democratize internet access , ensuring that even the most remote areas are connected to a resilient and robust digital network . By working together , we will democratize internet access and foster a transformative digital landscape .”
