It is exceedingly rare to achieve global agreement on anything . With Artificial Intelligence ( AI ), however , it seems an international consensus has been reached acknowledging it will reshape the world as we know it . Australia , despite previously lagging in adoption of AI technologies , is kicking into gear .

To be as prepared for the changing future as possible , the Senate established the Select Committee on Adopting Artificial Intelligent to “ inquire into and report on the opportunities and impacts for Australia arising out of the uptake of AI technologies in Australia .” and software components as traditional workloads – but at an incredibly higher rate . As a result , it not only shares many of the traditional IT risks but magnifies them . Success will require reliable , high-performing , and secure infrastructure , along with robust application security .
One of the most immediate challenges organisations will face when deploying GenAI models is the surge in traffic and corresponding increase in data volume . As more users interact with these algorithms , the volume of data being processed , stored , transmitted and analysed grows exponentially .

The report to Parliament couldn ’ t come soon enough as organisations , small and large , are chomping at the bit to explore the endless possibilities of AI .
While there are many flavours of AI , the one on everyone ’ s lips is Generative AI ( GenAI ).
As GenAI models like ChatGPT , Bard and Co-Pilot continue to grow , organisations across the economic spectrum are exploring the expanding capabilities .
GenAI applications are data-hungry by nature , requiring vast amounts of information to learn , adapt and generate accurate responses . This influx of data can strain existing resources , leading to bottlenecks and performance issues . Organisations need to invest in scalable infrastructure that can adjust to varying levels of demand to ensure the systems can handle the load – without compromising on performance or user experience .
The promise of these advanced AI systems is undeniable , offering unprecedented opportunities for automation , innovation , and efficiency . From content creation , to enhanced customer support automation and code generation , organisations are incorporating GenAI into workflows as a force multiplier to help gain competitive advantage .
However , as companies embark on using , or even building their own , GenAI solutions , they must also navigate a cyber minefield filled with challenges .
Infrastructure fit for demand
While it may seem like powerful magic , GenAI leverages much of the same infrastructure , interfaces ,
A foundation of security
Billions of apps and application programming interfaces ( APIs ) power the digital experiences we use every day , such as online banking , shopping , social media and more . As organisations set out to revolutionise these experiences with GenAI , these already complex environments become even more so .
The tech industry is prone to buzz and hype , but AI is no ‘ flavour of the month ’.
