MongoDB expands Australian investment to accelerate legacy modernisation and AI adoption

MongoDB has expanded its investment in Australia with a new office in Sydney to enable growth across its engineering , support , and go-to-market functions in Australia .

There is also a large and growing community of more than 70,000 developers in Australia and New Zealand who list MongoDB as a skill on LinkedIn .
MongoDB has seen strong growth in Australia and New Zealand and the region has become a key part of MongoDB ’ s Asia Pacific business – which has reached more than $ 220 million USD in annual revenue .
As part of its increased investment , MongoDB will be expanding its already large Research and Development teams in Australia .
Currently , more than 160 technical roles , such as developers , specialists , managers and engineers , are based in ANZ and work on a range of the company ’ s most cutting-edge projects .
According to IDC the Australian and New Zealand Database Management Systems market will be worth $ 1.9 billion USD and will grow 17.3 % in 2025 – but a large portion of software spending in Australia is devoted to maintaining outdated systems that are expensive , risky and impede the development of modern use cases like AI .
