Coates selects Totalmobile’ s Field First platform to boost field service productivity across 145 + sites
Totalmobile has signed a new five-year agreement with Coates, Australia’ s leading equipment hire and solutions provider, to modernize how branch, workshop, field and support teams operate across the country.
The agreement marks a significant investment by Coates in modernizing how branch, workshop, field and support teams operate across the country.
Coates will deploy Totalmobile’ s Field First platform to replace a range of legacy systems and improve operational insight across its nationwide operations. More than 1,100 operational staff across over 145 branches and workshops will use the platform to streamline and enhance fleet and asset repairs and maintenance activities, job scheduling and reduce admin tasks. The platform will also improve the tracking and completion of tasks in branches and on client sites.
“ Our people are based at branches and sites across Australia, often working in remote or challenging environments to support our customers wherever they need us. We needed a platform that would bring everything together and increase productivity while also reducing the admin workload of our team,” said Peter Davis, Executive General Manager, Asset Services, Coates.“ Totalmobile’ s Field First platform gives us the balance and operational insights we need. It’ s innovative, scalable and importantly, easy for our people to use.”
Phil Race, CEO, Totalmobile, said:“ Coates had a clear goal to improve how work gets done without adding more layers in the mix. That’ s where our platform, Field First, fits in and we’ re excited to be playing a part in their journey.”
CIOs prioritize revenue and security as tech landscape evolves
recent report by Logicalis reveals that CIOs in the Asia-Pacific
A region are increasingly focused on leveraging technology not just for efficiency, but as a direct driver of new revenue streams. The study, based on a survey of over 300 APAC-based CIOs, found that a remarkable 96 % are prioritizing investments in technology to generate new commercial growth. This shift signifies the evolving role of the CIO from a traditional IT enabler to a strategic architect of business success.
While the focus on innovation is high, the report also highlights persistent challenges. Cybersecurity remains a significant concern, with 91 % of APAC organizations experience at least one security incident in the past year. Despite increased spending, 53 % of CIOs find their security systems too complex to manage, and nearly half feel their current solutions don’ t align with their organizational needs. The rise of AI-driven attacks is a new and pressing threat.
The findings underscore a key dilemma: how to balance ambitious innovation goals with the foundational need for robust and streamlined cybersecurity. The report suggests that CIOs must adopt a more holistic security approach and seek trusted partnerships to optimize their investments. This dual focus on driving revenue and managing risk will define the CIO’ s role in the region.
