CASE STUDY
David Irecki, Chief Technology Officer for Asia Pacific and Japan, Boomi code-heavy integration environment. Their systems relied on thousands of lines of code to manage B2B and EDI workflows. The transition to a low-code, cloudnative platform required a mindset shift as much as a technology shift.
Another key challenge was interoperability. Mentor Media operates within a large distributed supply chain, interfacing with dozens of partners using various systems and standards. Boomi had to integrate seamlessly across this ecosystem while maintaining compliance and ensuring requirements on security and data standards were met.
Boomi’ s ability to automate documentation and streamline EDI mapping was a real game-changer. Developers no longer needed to design integration flows on paper or manually write and validate documentation. It saved time, reduced the workload and allowed teams to maintain control without compromising quality.
We worked hand-in-hand with Mentor Media to build reusable integration templates and implement best practices from day one. This approach allowed us to accelerate their time-to-value and boost their efficiency by as much as 60 %.
How did Boomi work with Mentor Media in implementing the solution?
We also highlighted that Boomi’ s platform is low code, which meant less-technical users could contribute meaningfully to integration work. By shortening the learning curve and freeing up developer capacity, it quickly became clear to the wider team that it wasn’ t just a new tool, it was a smarter way to work.
Where do you see the partnership with Boomi taking Mentor Media in the future?
For us, Boomi is not just a short-term solution, we’ re committed to the long haul. As the supply chain landscape grows more competitive and customer expectations continue to rise, we’ re under increasing pressure to operate with greater speed and efficiency. We chose Boomi because we needed both a platform and a partner that could scale with us. This partnership is helping us move away from human-dependent and skill-intensive systems toward a more intelligent and responsive organization.
It is a shared journey. As the market evolves, especially with AI and automation, we see Boomi as key to helping us stay ahead by making complex operations simpler, faster and more agile.
We worked closely with Mentor Media to remove the documentation bottlenecks that often slowed down the integration lifecycle. Previously, integration design required multiple handoffs; business analysts would collaborate with operations and customers to define the flow, document it and pass it on to integrators or coders for implementation.
This process was time-intensive and often prone to delays. Using the Boomi Enterprise Platform, Mentor Media was able to streamline that entire process. They were able to design integrations directly in-platform and automate the documentation process.
We also enabled faster onboarding of new partners. Their teams can instantly access Boomi’ s library of connectors to assess integration feasibility during early discussions, making it easier to move quickly and confidently with new business opportunities. Together, these changes helped reduce onboarding time by up to 50 %.
What future technical requirements does Boomi foresee evolving over the life of the partnership?

What were the technical challenges inherent in implementing the Boomi solution with Mentor Media?
When we began working with Mentor Media, one of the biggest hurdles was modernizing a highly complex and
As Mentor Media expands globally, our priority is to ensure that Boomi continues to support that growth. Not just by simplifying integration but enabling greater resilience, innovation and agility at scale. We also expect security, observability and governance to become even more critical and we’ re committed to evolving in lockstep with Mentor Media’ s needs. p
