The World Bank Group, in partnership with the Republic of Korea, has launched the Korea-WBG Global Digital Knowledge Center – a hub designed to accelerate digital transformation and expand the benefits of artificial intelligence for inclusive growth and job creation.
Building on South Korea’ s leadership in digital innovation, the Center brings together global expertise and strategic partnerships to support countries as they modernize their economies.

The Center’ s work focuses on three pillars: strengthening digital and data infrastructure; supporting governments to deliver secure, inclusive digital public services; and expanding innovative, entrepreneurial digital economies that generate jobs for women and youth.
Through research, technical guidance, capacity-building and knowledge exchange, the Center will equip governments with practical tools to drive sustainable digital transformation. Its programs will also foster collaboration among governments, industry, academia, and civil society, creating a global ecosystem that supports innovation, inclusive growth, and long-term digital resilience for all communities.

Ecosystem Alliance – bringing together major industry partners to drive AI adoption and Digital Transformation across the region.
With new cloud services, advanced infrastructure and a strong developer community, the launch reinforces Hong Kong’ s position as an emerging hub for AI innovation in Asia Pacific.
More than 200 enterprise leaders, partners and developers gathered to explore the industrialization of AI, the evolution of digital infrastructure and the collaborative technologies shaping the region’ s innovation landscape. The event’ s centerpiece was the official launch of the Huawei Hong Kong AI Ecosystem Alliance – a consortium designed to accelerate AI adoption through openness, partnership and shared technological advancement.
The recent The Huawei Cloud AI Summit Hong Kong 2025 marked a major milestone in the city’ s push toward AI-driven transformation.
The alliance brings together leading partners such as HKT, ASL, Nexify, KBQuest, EY, PwC, iFLYTEK, Deloitte China, WPS and ICO to co-create solutions across finance, healthcare, logistics and other major industries.
Huawei Cloud Asia Pacific President Sunny Shang emphasised Hong Kong’ s unique position as both a gateway for China’ s AI capabilities to reach the world and an entry point for international innovation into the mainland. He noted that Huawei Cloud’ s four availability zones, advanced AI infrastructure and low-latency services provided strong foundations for enterprise digital intelligence.
