NEXTDC announces TK1 Tokyo – a next-generation AI-ready platform in the heart of Japan
NEXTDC has announced the groundbreaking of TK1 Tokyo, a next-generation, AI-ready data centre to be developed in central Tokyo with targeted completion in late 2030.
Located in Minato ward beside the iconic Tokyo Tower, TK1 Tokyo marks NEXTDC’ s first facility in Japan and extends its interconnected digital ecosystem into one of the world’ s most significant cloud, AI and mission-critical computing markets.
As Japan accelerates adoption of AI, automation and advanced digital services, TK1 Tokyo will deliver secure, low-latency access to global cloud platforms and high-performance workloads. across the region through partnerships with CBRE Investment Management and leading global technology providers.
Part of NEXTDC’ s broader multi-market APAC expansion – including KL1 Kuala Lumpur – the Tokyo campus reinforces the company’ s position for growth driven by AI, cloud migration and rising sovereign digital-infrastructure requirements. With construction underway, operational readiness for TK1 Tokyo is expected in late 2030, providing a new AI-ready landing zone for organisations modernising and scaling their digital operations.
