The strategic partnership is said to delivers cost efficiencies, vendor diversification and long-term investment protection for one of India’ s most critical telecom infrastructure providers.

Nokia’ s IP routing and optical transport technologies are being integrated seamlessly with RailTel’ s existing infrastructure to support growing demand for high-speed and resilient connectivity.

Nokia has announced the successful upgrade of RailTel’ s Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing National Long-Distance network, undertaken in collaboration with its authorised partners. As part of the project, Nokia has deployed Carrier- Grade NAT and metro optical transport network capabilities across India, strengthening RailTel’ s ability to deliver reliable services at scale.

These initiatives collectively address increasing bandwidth demand while driving operational efficiency and reducing overall network costs. The upgraded infrastructure supports both enterprise connectivity and internal Internet service provision, ensuring RailTel can meet evolving customer expectations without compromising performance.
