Fujitsu has announced that its comprehensive traffic simulation system has been adopted for the Maebashi City Regional Public Transportation Plan. Analysis carried out by the system is included in the plan as scientific evidence supporting the policy to increase bus routes, one of the plan’ s key measures.

Macquarie Technology Group has secured a A $ 200 million hybrid investment from National Reconstruction Fund Corporation( NRFC). The NRFC is a sovereign investor established by the Australian Government to invest in Australian businesses to support nationally significant technological innovation, digital infrastructure, defence and national security. It works to transform industrial capability, create high-quality jobs and diversify Australia’ s economy.

The proceeds of the issue will be used for the development of sovereign, secure digital infrastructure and cybersecurity services with strategic product development initiatives focused on its Cloud Services and Government( CS & G) business segment supporting accelerated use of sovereign cloud services and AI by Australian government agencies, the Department of Defence, defence industry, critical infrastructure sectors and Australian businesses.

Across municipalities nationwide, addressing the needs of transportation-disadvantaged residents and responding to carbon neutrality in the transportation sector have become urgent challenges, driving the need to advance and modernise public transportation systems.

In Maebashi City, challenges such as demographic changes, increasingly diverse mobility needs and a shortage of bus drivers have emerged. As the city examined optimal bus route reorganisation measures under the Maebashi City Regional Public Transportation Plan, it required robust and credible scientific evidence to substantiate the effectiveness of these measures.

Fujitsu was selected for the project and developed a system capable of simulating both fixed-route and demand-responsive transportation, a first for Japan.
