NEC Corporation has signed a contract with the Commonwealth of Australia to supply nine types of defence equipment that will be installed on all three ships in the initial phase of the Royal Australian Navy’ s SEA3000 frigate procurement programme, which involves the procurement of a total of 11 ships. Under this contract, NEC will provide equipment, including underwater-related equipment, such as surface ship sonars, which are essential for enhancing the operational capabilities and reliability of naval vessels, as well as communications and navigation-related equipment, such as the UNICORN integrated communications antenna.
Digital Realty, one of the world’ s largest cloud- and carrierneutral data centre platforms, expects to launch its nextgeneration interconnection solution, ServiceFabric, in Indonesia in the second half of 2026.
The expected launch will be rolled out by Digital Realty Bersama, Digital Realty’ s 50 / 50 joint venture in Indonesia with Bersama Digital Infrastructure Asia( BDIA). Digital Realty’ s ServiceFabric – a service orchestration platform that enables seamless connectivity, data exchange and workload deployment across the global ecosystem – will be deployed at the CGK10 and CGK11 data centres, empowering customers to deploy faster, scale with confidence and unlock the full potential of their data.

NEC has previously supplied various sonar systems, information and communication systems and navigation systems to the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. Building on this track record, NEC will provide equipment for frigates that the Commonwealth of Australia is procuring from Japan.
