Editor’ s Note
Welcome to the latest instalment of Intelligent CIO APAC magazine. This issue, we look at how AI is reshaping sectors as varied as healthcare and construction across the region – a trend set to deepen as adoption matures. We also examine a stark new figure from INTERPOL on cybercrime’ s growing share of crime across APAC.
Appearing on the cover this month is Paul Walsh, CEO of Newtimes Development. He explains how the Hong Kong-based global apparel sourcing and supply-chain company faced growing complexity across its global factory network.
This resulted in a partnership with Pivot88 to standardise inspections, centralise compliance data and gain real-time visibility into quality performance worldwide. We hear how the group achieved significant business outcomes by delivering more efficient, transparent inspection services to its clients. This story can be found on page 14.

An interesting report from INTERPOL has revealed some shocking statistics relating to cybercrime across Asia-Pacific. The 2025 / 2026 Asia and South Pacific Cyberthreat Assessment Report discovered a dramatic increase in cybercrime – accounting for more than 30 % of all recorded crime across Asia and the South Pacific.
We explore the findings further on page 18 – with Neal Jetton, INTERPOL Cybercrime Director who provides expert advice for protecting communities and critical infrastructure.
On page 24, Rachel Ler, Area Vice President of Asia at Fastly, makes the case for multi-cloud architecture as APAC organisations face mounting pressure from outages, regulation and expanding AI workloads. She explains why resilience must now be treated as a strategic priority.
Elsewhere in the magazine, we take a look at building the AI-powered future of corporate travel. On page 35, Simon Young, CTO at Serko, explores the advantages of AI for the travel industry and how the company plans to use it to transform corporate travel into a personalised, effortless experience.
Aside from those key segments, we also feature country-specific news stories as well as technology-specific stories on page 28.
