AT TOKYO and Zadara launch ATBeXconnected cloud region, supporting AI demand in Japan
AT TOKYO Corporation and Zadara K. K. have entered into a strategic partnership to launch the AT TOKYO region of Zadara Cloud at AT TOKYO data centres. The service, branded as‘ ATBeX Edge Compute powered by Zadara’, is scheduled to be available in August 2026.
AT TOKYO has formed an ecosystem comprising of more than 100 domestic and international network operators and cloud service providers. Through ATBeX, its network fabric service that enables flexible and highly reliable private connectivity, AT TOKYO provides an interconnection environment that connects these service providers with partner data centres throughout Japan.
In recent years, driven by the rapid expansion of AI workloads and growing demand for migrating on-premises virtualisation environments to the cloud, there has been a rising need for sovereign cloud capabilities that enable customers to leverage flexible cloud infrastructure while keeping their data within Japan.
In response to this demand, AT TOKYO and Zadara have deployed a region of Zadara’ s Federated Edge Cloud service,‘ Zadara Cloud’, within AT TOKYO’ s data centre environment, designated as the‘ Zadara Cloud AT TOKYO Region’, and launched the new service‘ ATBeX Edge Compute powered by Zadara’.
This service delivers an integrated Edge cloud offering that combines compute, storage and networking, designed for the AI era. By leveraging AT TOKYO’ s connectivity environment, it enables both domestic data residency and high connectivity, thereby supporting customers in their cloud utilisation and AI infrastructure development.
A key feature sees the Zadara Cloud AT TOKYO Region leverage AT TOKYO’ s flexible and highly reliable connectivity environment to support private connections to public cloud services as well as Internet connectivity. Customers can freely select their preferred service providers from the established ecosystem in an open environment.
The Zadara Cloud AT TOKYO Region, which will be launched through this collaboration, will operate as part of Zadara’ s global Federated Edge Cloud network, spanning 25 countries and more than 500 locations.
Federated Edge Cloud is a distributed cloud architecture in which multiple service providers leverage their respective network connectivity to collaborate on a common platform.
AT TOKYO will support the nationwide rollout of Federated Edge Cloud services using ATBeX, working to strengthen Japan’ s digital infrastructure and support the growth of customer businesses. •
