We’ re delighted to feature Stephen Payne, Associate Director, Hosting Infrastructure, from the University of Southern Queensland( UniSQ), on this month’ s cover. We hear how the university overhauled its core IT infrastructure with Nutanix and was able to cut its footprint by 52 % while keeping learning platforms and student services running smoothly.
Payne dives deeper into the decision to replace the previous virtualisation platform with the Nutanix Cloud Platform, as well as how it has changed reliability and performance for students and staff. The story can be found on page 14.

Later in the magazine, on page 35, Joshua Pope, Chief Technology Officer at the Fair Work Commission( FWC) explains why the organisation is using governed Agentic AI to automate its IT operations, accelerate case reporting and prepare new public-facing services, demonstrating how government organisations can deploy AI rapidly while maintaining human oversight.
