Water management has become one of the strategic issues in global industrial development. The industrial sector accounts for approximately 19 % of total global freshwater withdrawals, making the implementation of solutions such as water recycling and reuse increasingly important to ensure the sustainability of water resources.
Addressing this challenge, Greenland International Industrial Center( GIIC) has been developing a water reclamation programme since 2025 to reduce freshwater consumption while promoting sustainable industrial development to support tenant operations at GIIC in Kota Deltamas. Amazon Web Services( AWS) is the first tenant who collaborated with GIIC to bring this initiative to implementation, and the first to utilise reclaimed water from the facility for its data centre cooling operations.
“ Since the launch of our water reclamation programme in January 2025, we are pleased to see tenants embracing this initiative,” said Hongky J. Nantung, President Director of PT Puradelta Lestari Tbk.“ Amazon Web Services is the first tenant to adopt reclaimed water from our facility for its data centre cooling operations. This demonstrates how sustainable infrastructure can reduce freshwater consumption while supporting the long-term growth of industries at GIIC.”

Google Cloud has announced the launch of Google Security Operations in the Google Cloud Taiwan Region(‘ Taiwan Region’), addressing Taiwanese organisations’ data governance and data residency requirements. Google Security Operations is an intelligence-driven and AI-powered security operations platform designed to offer the speed, scale and insights necessary to bolster cyber defence capabilities, enabling agentic AI defence for Taiwanese organisations.
Taiwan’ s critical sectors face relentless, sophisticated threats, particularly targeting critical infrastructure, government agencies and the IT sector, including semiconductors. This pushes enterprise cybersecurity teams to their limits with surging log volumes, alert fatigue and prolonged investigations amidst a cyber talent crunch. The emergence of AI-enabled threats has only exacerbated the challenge. Traditional Security Information and Event Management( SIEM) and Security Operations Center( SOC) defences are no longer adequate against these rapidly evolving threats.
Google Cloud’ s strategic expansion with Google Security Operations directly addresses this need by offering an AIpowered, agentic defence strategy. This includes providing sovereign controls for operating defensive AI agents to meet Taiwan’ s unique digital sovereignty needs and adapt to the transforming cyberthreat landscape.
