Infosys strengthens presence in India with expansion of Indore Development Centre
Infosys, a global leader in AI-first business consulting and technology services, has announced the expansion of its Indore Development Centre( DC) with the inauguration of a new Software Development Block( SDB-2) at its campus in the Super Corridor, Indore. The new 330,000-sq. ft. block further strengthens Infosys’ presence in Central India and its commitment to the region’ s growing technology and talent ecosystem.
Infosys Indore currently has more than 3,300 employees supporting global clients across Banking, Financial Services and Insurance( BFSI), Retail, Life Sciences and Manufacturing. The expanded centre will strengthen Infosys’ capabilities in cloud, application development, AI and Machine Learning and cybersecurity to address evolving client requirements. The expansion will also enable Infosys to tap into Central India’ s growing talent pool. Infosys plans to deepen its engagement with Madhya Pradesh’ s academic and technology ecosystem through skilling programmes and institutional partnerships, including engagement with IIT Indore, IIM Indore and Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya( DAVV).
The new building is aligned with Infosys’ ESG commitments and high-performance green building standards, and the centre is designed to be environmentally friendly and energy efficient. It incorporates features like low-energy cooling, smart building automation, rainwater harvesting and wastewater recycling. The facility will also be enabled with amenities such as flexible workstations, training facilities and wellness centres.
“ Indore is steadily emerging as an important technology hub, supported by a strong talent base and a growing innovation ecosystem,” said Dr Mohan Yadav, Hon’ ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh.“ Infosys’ investment in Indore will create employment opportunities for the state’ s skilled youth and further strengthen Madhya Pradesh’ s technology ecosystem.”
TCS launches India’ s first lights-out factory lab to advance AI-first manufacturing
Tata Consultancy Services( TCS), a global leader in
IT services, consulting and business solutions, has launched the TCS Industrial Autonomy & Engineering Lab – Lights-Out Factory, at its Sahyadri Park campus in Pune. As India’ s maiden lights-out factory lab, this facility will simulate how self-optimising factories can automate operations using the TCS Human + AI Service Autonomy Model. It brings together technologies such as digital twins, robotics, industrial AI, factory control systems and real-time operational intelligence and seamlessly combines them for live manufacturing environments.
A lights-out factory is a manufacturing unit where autonomous systems can run production with minimal human intervention. The Pune lab houses a fully robotic battery pack assembly line, making it India’ s first lab to demonstrate the principles of lights-out manufacturing. Simulations on this live setup which has multiple stages of production will help manufacturers prototype, validate and scale AI-first production systems. The Pune lab addresses a key challenge faced by manufacturers: translating Industry 4.0, AI and robotics concepts into practical operating models. It gives customers a controlled setting to explore industrial scenarios, assess their suitability for production environments and reduce deployment risk.
The TCS Industrial Autonomy & Engineering Lab – Lights-Out Factory, is the latest addition to TCS’ Industrial Autonomy & Engineering innovation footprint. Earlier this year, TCS launched the TCS Industrial Autonomy & Engineering Lab Powered by NVIDIA in Bengaluru to accelerate Physical AI innovation for industrial and mobility applications.
As part of TCS’ Industrial Autonomy & Engineering capabilities, the facility supports a range of industry use cases including predictive maintenance, automated quality inspection, real-time process optimisation, human-machine collaboration and autonomous factory operations.
