Sutherland, a global leader in digital transformation, has partnered with the Philippine Government to launch the AI Academy, a new initiative aimed at equipping Filipinos with practical, future-ready AI skills.

The Academy will provide hands-on, industry-aligned training to prepare the workforce for roles such as AI specialists, prompt engineers, and cybersecurity professionals. It supports the Philippines’ broader goal of fostering a digitally resilient and inclusive economy.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. emphasized the importance of expanding access to AI education, saying it empowers Filipinos to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital economy.

Sutherland Chairman and CEO Dilip Vellodi highlighted the collaboration as a step toward building a strong ecosystem for innovation and digital skills that uplifts communities and drives economic growth.

Department of Information and Communications Technology( DICT) Secretary Henry Rhoel Aguda stressed the transformative impact of AI and automation, noting that 85 % of jobs will require AI fluency in the near future.

The Academy will focus on key sectors like fintech, healthcare, and digital industries, utilizing Sutherland’ s expertise in AI, automation, and cloud technologies.

Supported by educational institutions and local governments such as Camsur and Tarlac, the initiative aims to make AI training accessible nationwide.

This partnership positions the Philippines as a leader in AI workforce development while reinforcing Sutherland’ s commitment to delivering digital solutions that transform industries and strengthen economies.
