Nokia and Taiwan Mobile extend 5G partnership to advance AI-powered networks
Nokia has announced it has signed a 5G expansion agreement with Taiwan Mobile to accelerate the evolution towards AInative mobile networks across Taiwan. The agreement reinforces Nokia’ s role as a trusted long-term partner and supports Taiwan Mobile’ s goals of enhancing network performance, automation and sustainability.
Under the agreement, Nokia will deploy its latest AirScale portfolio, including next-generation baseband and radio solutions, alongside advanced software capabilities to enhance Taiwan Mobile’ s existing network infrastructure and enable new 5G services and monetisation opportunities. The partnership builds on the companies’ shared vision of integrating AI across mobile networks to create highly automated, resilient and energyefficient networks capable of supporting the increasing AI traffic.
The deployment introduces a comprehensive set of AI-driven capabilities spanning network intelligence, infrastructure, sustainability and resilience.
The new deal will expand 5G capacity and optimise network performance through the deployment of advanced radios and next-generation baseband solutions. These upgrades will support enhanced throughput, improved spectrum efficiency and the delivery of premium user experiences. In parallel, the integration of AI-driven network management and automation solutions will enable predictive maintenance, reduce operational complexity and lower total cost of ownership while supporting the introduction of new 5G capabilities such as slicing and RedCap.

Tencent Cloud and Rockstreamer have announced a strategic partnership to deliver next-generation cloud, AI, Content Delivery Network( CDN) and enterprise OTT solutions for telecom operators, broadcasters, media companies, sports rights holders and digital platforms across Bangladesh and emerging markets.
The partnership combines Tencent Cloud’ s cloud infrastructure and AI capabilities with Rockstreamer’ s expertise in designing, developing, deploying and operating large-scale digital entertainment platforms. Together, the companies aim to enable enterprises to modernise their streaming infrastructure, accelerate cloud adoption and launch world-class OTT services capable of serving millions of users with speed, reliability and operational efficiency.
As the partnership’ s first major success, Tencent Cloud and Rockstreamer jointly powered Binge +, the official OTT platform developed and operated by Rockstreamer for Robi Axiata PLC. Built entirely on Tencent Cloud’ s enterprise-grade cloud ecosystem, Binge + demonstrates how modern cloud architecture, AI-assisted engineering and close collaboration between global technology providers and regional solution partners can dramatically reduce deployment timelines while delivering carrier-grade performance.
The migration to Tencent Cloud involved rebuilding the platform around a cloud-native architecture capable of supporting high-volume live streaming, rapid traffic fluctuations and uninterrupted content delivery across Android, iOS, Web, Smart TV and operator applications. Throughout the project, Tencent Cloud’ s engineering specialists worked closely with Rockstreamer’ s technical teams, while Tencent Cloud’ s AI capabilities accelerated engineering workflows, infrastructure optimisation, deployment planning and operational readiness. This collaborative approach enabled the teams to build a resilient and highly scalable OTT environment.
The capabilities of the new platform have since been put to the test during a premier global football tournament. Powered by Tencent Cloud and architected by Rockstreamer, Binge + successfully delivered live global sporting events to millions of viewers across Bangladesh, maintaining a seamless viewing experience throughout the tournament despite the demanding traffic patterns associated with global sporting events. •
